“Witness: Early Lead Works”, a solo show by Antony Gormley curated by Susan May, White Cube, London
On view April 23rd until June 8th
The show features 14 of the artist's early works dating from the mid-1970s to early-1990s. Developed in the aftermath of the protracted geopolitical tensions of the Cold War, the sculptures selected in the exhibition were created in lead, a material that laid the groundwork for many of Gormley's subsequent bodies of work.
