Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020 has officially come to an end. French Fries is ready to take you behind the scenes again with photographer Alina Ferraro for an exclusive backstage look.

SHENZEN GARMENT INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION kept the energy alive creating a bridge between East and West including brands like Song of Song and INSUN.

Established in 1988, Shenzen Garment Industry Association has gone through 30 years and witnessed the opening up of Shenzen and the vigorous development of its garment industry. The Association is a non profit industrial organization voluntarily organized by Shenzen enterprises engaged in clothing, apparel, textile, and other related industries. Of the events its sponsors are China International Fashion Brand Fair and Shenzen Fashion Week.

At present, the Association has more than than 800 enterprise members, which own many many first-line Chinese garment brands. With the aim of promoting the sustainable development if China’s garment industry, the Association is committed to facilitating integration, promotion and international cooperation in fashion design, product R&D, branding and so on in the garment industry.

Shenzen, located along the coast of the South China and adjacent to Hong Kong, is the first special economic zone in China. After 40 years development,Shenzen has transformed from a small fishing village into one of the most economically dynamic and technologically developed modern cities in China. In 2018, Shenzen’s GDP broke through 315.4 billion Euros, a growth of 7.8%, GDP per capita exceeded 20 000 Euros, and total volume of foreign trade 390.4 billion Euros, making it one of five urban economies in Asia.

At present, there are more than 2000 fashion enterprises in Shenzen, among which above 95% are self-owned brands, with 300 000 employed persons and more than 20 000 designers. In 2017, Shenzen achieved total sales of 33.8 billion Euros and and total exports of 8.9 billion Euros. Especially, Shenzen’s fashion women’s wear is taking the lead in China, with the market share in big shopping malls in China’s first tier cities of over 60%.Through capital operation, part of the enterprises have merged and acquired some international brands, set up franchised stores overseas and engaged world-famous fashion design for cooperation.

Since 2015, Shenzen has conducted Shenzen Fashion Week every year. Positioned on “International Platform, Original Design, Business Cooperation and Fashion Carnaval”.

Relying on developed fashion industry, Shenzen has initiated the China International Fashion Brand Fair-Shenzen.

So far, 19 sessions of the fair were successfully held. It is one of the largest and most influential specialized fashion fairs in Asian-Pacific region. To further promote fashion trade and international exchange, the fair will e held twice a year

(spring / summer and autumn / winter) from 2020.
