First Light
“We are all sculptors and painters, and our material is our own flesh and blood and bones.”, said Henry David Thoreau. This seems to be well represented in this editorial photographed by Mer Hausmann and styled by Amaia Olmedo. Model Marta Hernández is a gothic figure, she looks like she just came out of a Tim Burton movie. Tulle, lace and organza wrap her body and focus attention on her mysterious gaze, which seems to peer into you, take refuge in the folds of your soul. Exactly as Thoreau said, Marta makes a sculpture of herself, also thanks to the make-up created by Mara Fervi, which with a black furrow on the lips and a red eye shadow that drains out drawing tears, makes her image more that of a work of art than that of a human being.
