La Figlia della Furia

“La figlia della Furia” is the new editorial for French Fries Magazine, shot by Klementine Dulak. Her photography works with light game, with shadows effects and with neutral and empty backgrounds, such as to give to the images the absence of a defined space-time. The power of her photos is under construction of the images and in poses that she makes the photographed subject assume. Alicja Krajewska is the protagonist of this editorial. Her face looks very natural, without exaggerated makeup or even completely clean. Her dishevelled and rebel hair hides her gaze full of emotions; the clothes, almost totally in dark colors, support the strength of her thoughts and grant to her body the elegance of a Fury.

The Furies in Roman mythology were the goddesses of curse and punishing revenge. Above all, they punished transgressions and crimes committed within the family. They provoked madness in their victims, torturing them in all ways. They were also called Eumenides, the Lenient, both for antiphrases, to divert their evil, and because with the punishment of the wicked they procured well-being to the good. The model, with her eyes full of poignancy, embodies the fury towards a world in self-destruction, towards a broken society and a limping soul. The red shoes express the female solidarity towards a human existence of injustice. Layout is by Beatrice Panero.
