These were the words sang by Swedish pop rock group “The Cardigans”. They tell the story of a particularly manipulative woman reminiscing about her recent breakup. “I'm losing my favorite game” is the song-inspired title of this editorial shot by Jusher Avain, styled by Natasha Venturino with the assistance of Joshua Venturino. Hair and make-up is by Sibille.

In this editorial the protagonist Dasha reminds of “The Cardigans”’s main singer, Nina Persson, in the music video of the song.

The model has an expression that is sometimes provocative, sometimes playful. There is something deeply attractive and disturbing in her gaze, both when it is distracted by the ancient and disturbing environment in which the girl is immersed, both when it is pointed straight to the camera.

Thanks to clever visual effects, such as the use of blacks and whites, overlays, shades and shadows, Dasha appears and disappears, wearing oversized shirts and leather jackets. She seems to be imprisoned in a cramped space, but she is the one dominating it.
