WOMEN UP: STARRING
Originally from Warsaw, Poland, VTSS (real name Martyna Maja), curator of this collaboration, started off in the underground scene of her native country. After amassing a cult following, she moves to Berlin, Europe’s mecca of electronic music. Since then, she’s played at clubs and festivals like Berghain, Boiler Room, Unsound, Dekmantel, De School, or Hör.
Chippy Nonstop is based in Toronto, Canada, and has recently published “To Myself,” a drum and bass ballad with DJ Genderfluid, with whom she had collaborated already in “Straight to Hell,” a more club-oriented track. Praised by specialized press like Mixmag, The Fader or DJ Mag, she’s also the founder of Intersessions, a series of online workshops, and of Pep Rally, an inclusive party in Toronto.
Lokier is the moniker as well as the surname of Yoan Lokier. Born and raised in Mexico City, the now Berlin-based DJ and producer is an emerging star within the industrial techno scene. She’s collaborated with artists like SPFDJ, participated in festivals like Dimensions and Reaktor, and been featured in Mixmag and DJ Mag.
After becoming a success in the Londoner night scene, Lyzza decides to move to Amsterdam. Composer, producer, DJ and vocalist, the Brazilian artist is a jack-of-all-trades with various published albums. Festivals like Melt!, Sónar Barcelona or Primavera Sound, and media like Pitchfork or Crack have turned her into one of the emerging artists to watch.
Originally from Shanghai, China, and now based in Berlin, artist Rui Ho distances herself from the techno that pervades the German capital. Producer and DJ, she studied Cultural Mediation at the prestigious university Sorbonne in Paris before getting into music. Recently, she’s published the album “Lov3 & L1ght” with renowned label Planet Mu, which celebrated its 25th birthday in 2020.
Yha Yha, the alias of Alyha Love, is a mysterious, secretive artist. Originally from California, she now lives in Berlin. Born to a Vietnamese father and Native American mother, the artist puts activism at the center of her work. At a crossroads of various genres like techno and voguing, her music is an amalgamation of experiences, sounds and rhythms.
