Colazione sull'erba

What happens when Fashion shifts its perspective on real women and reclaims truth? The title of this fashion editorial, "Colazione sull'erba", suggests outrage and disapproval within society, in the same way as the eponymous Manet's painting in 1863 was considered monstruous, therefore rejected for its subversive nakedness in regard to the dominant culture.

In a modern culture obsessed with youth and perfection, as an art director, stylist & photographer Isabella Bertelli chooses to give voice to the kind of beauty that is generally shut out of the fashion conversation, id est the aged woman. What is more, she wears her own everyday clothes and she feels good in them. Models Maria Marino, Corinna Giomi and Laura Marsili become interpreters of alternative forms of mature yet playful femininity: embracing their own spontaneity is definitely the new way to feel delightfully young.
