I can't pretend
And I wanna fight
But I can’t contend
I guess that’s love
I can’t pretend. I can’t pretend.
In this way, Tom Odell sings his song, sharing with this editorial a remarkable message: Can’t pretend. Never in life. Because everyone of us should believe in freedom of being, of doing and of respecting our own choices and feelings.
The photographer Fà Bascompte with Bienbien dabbled in this project, trying to grasp the several facets of the protagonist, the model Berta Peñas, and her emotions. The photographer's lens is not always in focus, but often takes particular care to frame the eyes and the gaze of the model, which is hidden by a giant green fur hat only in one shot. Other times her look is out of focus, but her face is never overlooked.
Every expression is made magnetic by the makeup and hairstyle curated by Sílvia Viñolas, who makes her hair very shiny. Clara Serrano handles the styling, taking care of every detail of the looks and making them determined and never plain.
