Dream of stone, no heating, electricity or telephone

Would living in a world without heating, electricity and telephone be feasible for contemporary society? Here it raises a question that spurs us to reflect on the conditions of our life and whether we would be able to live in what is called the dream of stone. This editorial conjures up an expression: May you live in interesting times? This is also the name of the 58th edition of Biennale of Venice, curated by Ralph Rugo, that is an expression of the English language invention that has long been mistakenly cited as an ancient Chinese curse that invokes periods of uncertainty, crisis and turmoil; "interesting times", exactly as the ones we live in today.

Opening up to a new reading of gestures and situations will allow each of us to argue in discussion. A similar art arises from the propensity to look at reality from multiple points of view and to juggle dierent ways of interpreting the world around us.

Dream of stone, no heating, electricity or telephone is a project that oers new points of view on a seemingly normal reality. Art direction, Styling and Polaroid Photography are all curated by Sasha Hramova, whereas film and digital photography is by Evgeny Kolesnikov. Both of the two make special all pictures, handling colors and flowers with fantasy and authenticity. The model Olia Varda is the protagonist, not always in the focus, with an industrial city in the background.
