“When you are a little kid, specially if you are the son of Antonio Marras living in a very small town in Sardinia, everybody would ask, ‘so you want to do clothes as well when you grow up?’. I was like ‘absolutely not’. I had other plans. I started doing theatre, I started drawing, painting and photographing a lot. Then my dad asked me to stay and take care of some things for the brand, but I decided to go back to the US. As a result, I woke up the next day and saw that he had leaked a press release to WWD saying that I was going to be the new creative director of Isola Marras, so I stayed, and that’s how it started.”
