Niccolò Lapo Latini
Niccolò Lapo Latini, 23 years old, Creative Director. Told by Kein Studio in "The Underdog" and defined a "Guernica" by L'Officiel Russia on the occasion of its recent collaboration with Colmar Originals. He moved to Milan to study cinematography and art direction as soon as he finished his classical studies and immediately began working in the world of figurative arts. Suddenly a call from Barcelona, Fila Europe and its first meeting with the Fashion Business. After completing his studies, he began working in fashion visual communication agencies in the creative department but he decided to abandon that path shortly afterwards to look for his own, a solo path as Creative Director.
“At the beginning it was difficult, my young age was a problem. There was a bit of embarrassment and a lot of skepticism but then the doubts gave way to the results. I am learning that being a “leader” is much better than being a “boss”. It’s a teamwork and sometimes all it takes is a common goal.” N.L.L
Hence the first publications for L'Officiel (Italy, France, Russia), the special mention of Purple France, the first official interview released for Wonderland (London) this February and the start of the partnership with Babolat, a connecting element for Niccolò between its past and its new future.
In the current season the level rises, passing through Lacoste up to the Vanity Teen New York FW21 Cover Story together with Emanuele Ferrari in collaboration with Reebok. A clean idea of how to interpret the set or as he like to say an “intention". The vision is clear also as regards his team, each time forged and customized according to the type of production. “My favorite model? An intelligent one. Strangers who meet for a short time to create together something that will remain for a long time, that’s our purpose ... I have no ideals of beauty. Beauty means little, while effectiveness is everything. I need the right person at the right moment. We have to tell a story and we need the right protagonist.” N.L.L
He brings into his sets ways of thinking and acting that are still foreign to our world. There is something different in the air. Keep whatching!
“Professionals who are part of our world - photographers, models, directors... - either have always wanted it from an early age and have worked a lifetime to get there or it happens by chance. I never thought of becoming part of this world, it came by chance, I belong to this category. There is no more a right path than the other but i’m sure there is no middle way. Either you want it madly or he finds you.” N.L.L
