You make moves that people want to move to as well. What’s that like? How did you start?

I started when I was seven. My mom was like, oh, you need to start taking classes. We have this dance school in my town that I was very happy to go to. When I was 18, I actually made my first first audition for a big TV show back home, which is called Amici di Maria De Filippi. I ended up doing the show and eventually winning it. So I was able to move to America, have a lawyer, get an agency, and start working as a professional dancer over there. I started dancing in L.A. doing shows, People's Choice Awards, Emmy Awards. I always watched Britney Spears and Lady Gaga performing at those awards and eventually I ended up doing the VMAs, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards as well.

You’ve spoken about the power of live shows allowing you to do what you love to do.

Yes, and dancing opened a lot of doors to me, like doing movies like Cinderella, which we filmed in London. And now I just filmed my first acting movie in Rome, which I'm so excited and I can't tell a lot about it yet, but I finished shooting it yesterday and I'm very, very happy because I'm making my acting debut next year with this movie.

You are travelling a lot, do you eat fast food?

No no, I prefer pasta or pizza rather than fast food. I don't eat fast food. But hey, if I have an In-N-Out next to me, yes, I'm going to get a burger there. I get some french fries, but I try not to get them from the fast food, I try to get them in a place that I know that they change the oil, you know?

Do you like to cook?

I love making food. A friend of mine passed me this tradition of her lasagna that I love, and I think I do it better now.

It sounds like there’s loads of creative synergy between you and JLo. Has that always been the case?

I've been on tour with her around 2019 with the "It's My Party" tour that was for her 50 year birthday, so we were touring the world and it was amazing. We did America, we did Middle East. She was the first big artist that I worked with. I actually did the rehearsals for her Vegas residency but ended up not doing it, but then I was booked for Taylor Swift. Everything happens for a reason, and then I had the chance to work with JLo again after 6 years.

Before JLo, it was Taylor.

She's amazing, so down to Earth. Working with her is like working with your family, you don’t have problems to discuss or something, you’re not scared. Everytime she gets in the room, she wants to say hi to everybody and she likes to introduce herself to every single person, I find this very professional, very human.

Do you remember your first performance ever?

Well, my first performance ever was when I was a kid, I was expressing my love for dancing. And I remember that I used to love going on stage, even getting ready for it. But the very first performance on stage was on X Factor UK. Right after I had my first job and I was so excited because I was working with Brian Friedman, he was Britney Spears’ choreographer, he did Toxic, he did all her iconic choreographies. And my English was bad at that time. I was very embarrassed. I was very anxious, but he booked me for that job, and I was very happy about it.

Are you a lot on social media?

Especially this last year! I've been modeling as well, and I feel like everything's connected to dancing. Everytime a photographer works with me, I like to incorporate dance moves because they usually don't get them from a regular person, you know? Social media I think is a good platform if you share it in the right way, but it can be very dark at the same time. There is a bright side, there's a dark side. I prefer mine. I feel my platform is very bright because I like to show what I do and inspire people to express themselves.

You grew up in Calabria

Yes, I’m from Gioia Tauro, a small town in Calabria, and every time I go home, they always want to take photos with me. It’s a big deal for me, and I think one of the reasons I won Amici was because of them, because they were with their phones voting for me, and I'm very, very grateful for my town and for my people. But we always have to grow, we can’t always remain comfortable, so I moved to L.A., I wanted to make it, I wanted to be someone, I want to express myself and be the best dancer out there.
