A trip to Tenerife

FRENCH FRIES travel

French Fries Team and the photographer Vitalik Melnikov

What were your best and worst memories of the trip?

Good things: Firstly, I had the opportunity to meet Anna Bryzhan’s son, who seemed happy to meet me. He always smiled whenever he saw me, every day! Secondly, one day I went to Anaga, a forest area in Tenerife. I took the bus there, but I didn’t check the bus schedule for the return trip. So, I asked a lady for help, and she informed me that the next bus would be in 2 hours. Her name was Anna, a professor from the United States. We spent an hour in Santa Cruz, where she talked about her son, apps, the internet, and her experiences living in Austria, Paris, and Germany.

Worst thing: I felt that all the tourist areas there resembled the Soviet Union, but with people from England or the USA.

What are your 3 must-see sights?

Anaga, Teide, and I believe all the beaches there are very beautiful!

Is there any special restaurant, accommodation, or activity that you would recommend?

I would recommend Ubuntu cafe in El Medano. It seemed like a great meeting point.

Can you share an anecdote from your trip?

While I don’t have an anecdote per se, there was one spontaneous moment. When I was on my way home in a rush, I noticed a family coming out of a supermarket. I asked them if I could take a picture, and they happily agreed. It was evening, and I used my flash, which surprised them. They were caught with all their shopping bags, a baby, and water. There were a lot of people around. I thanked them and said goodbye!
