Featured by popular Greek designers, successful Greek fashion brands and up-and-coming designers who showcased new trends for the next season is Athens Xclusive Designers Week. Within five days, November 7th to 11th, a total of 37 shows were presented in the main venue the Zappeion Palace, while some shows took place in very special locations around Athens.

The show kicked off on Thursday, November 7 at noon in the Peristyle of Zappeion with graduates of Fashion Workshop presenting their new collections while Olga Karaver traveled to New York with her new collection shortly afterwards. The creations of Kathy Heyndels & Giannetos Handmade were shining for the first time in the Peristyle of Zappeion and shortly after Dimitris Ordoulides completed day 1 with separate female and male creations.

Day 2 of AXDW was dedicated to young designers with 12 talented creators presenting their collections, such as Leonidas Gianopoulos, Yiouli Moustakatou, Yiorgos Mihoudis and many more.

For the first time, Yvonne Bosniak participates in a separate show at the Zappeion Peristyle, and MI-RO reserves another avant garde show at the School of Fine Arts on Sunday night. Also, from Cyprus comes Lucia Kyriakou, Myria Economou & Alex Taratinova. Vassilis Zoulias presents a special capsule collection along with Pericles Kondylatos jewelry at a late night show on Saturday night. According to the organizers, the international interest in the event is particularly high for this season as well.

This season, Athens Fashion Week comes a few days after the death of the great Greek designer Sofia Kokosalaki. Part of AXDW was dedicated as a small sign of gratitude for her enormous talent and contribution to promoting Greek fashion worldwide.
