French Fries Goes backstage Madwalk 2019 Athens

French Fries and photographer George Stratigis @stratigis take you backstage at Madwalk Athens 2019.

Radical stems from the content and not necessarily from the form, Sotiris Georgiou collection S/s '19 inspired from the belief of artist Steven Parrino, blending once again modern art & fashion. The 1970s, '80s and' 90s are redefined among the legendary subcultures in order to reconstitute as new reference points and promote the social diversity of today. Εxtravagance, risk, sensuality, vitality, nostalgia, body, pleasure, elements strongly reflected in metallic fabrics, cotton, cool wool, anorak and yield visual characters that are simultaneously stepping in the past and the future.

Presented by the GNTM's top model Iliana Papageorgiou, welcoming the audience to the open act with FY, interpreting the song "They Do not Want Me". Sakis Rouvas in a powerful duet with Marina Jungwirth interpreted the song "Shallow" on Celia Kritharioti catwalk. Kalomira raised the audience with "No tears left to cry" on the BSB catwalk. The creations of Sotiris Georgiou were presented with the song "Self Control" performed by Demy. Eve Adamou interpreted "Black Velvet with Dimitris Petrou in a special catwalk.   

This year's MadWalk  received the stage performance of the La Casa De Papel soundtrack, Cecilia Krull, who performed the great success of "My life is going on" for the Atelier's Loukia catwalk.

MadWalk 2019 - the Fashion Music Project, was held with great success on Monday, April 1st in an evocative creative event that unites fashion with music at the Olympic Fencing Center. In the impressive scenery, popular artists from Greece and abroad along with the original creations of famous Greek designers and brands, such as Atelier Loukia, Sotiris Georgiou, Dimitris Petrou, Celia Kritharioti and more.


George Stratigis as a well known visual artist, invited to create a backstage editorial, in a blend of contemporary fashion & beauty portraiture, influenced by neo-noir movies, using the ambient lighting to reveal a cinematic atmosphere with his experimental approach.

Russian star Sergey Lazarev, who will represent Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest and  interpreted "Scream", framed by the Olympiad team with the project "The Wolves ", which in 2017 became World Athletic Champion under the direction of Olympia Dragounis and presenting an unprecedented special act that set the Olympic Fencing Center.
