Kyoto Dream
This series of photographs, entitled "Kyoto Dream", is an ode to Japanese culture. Shot by Nicholas, styled by Emily, with a layout by Beatrice Panero, the protagonist of this evocative dreamy setting is Kayla.
In the first shots, her diaphanous face is illuminated by a red light that looks like that of a summer dawn, in contrast with the pure white of her dress. From being a young and innocent girl, Kayla turns into a queen: she wears black, she has a crown on her head and a crow on her shoulder, who in Japanese mythology is wise and giver of advice.
She changes again, and now she has a lucky statuette on her head, her hands protected by black gloves, as if to symbolize the search for protection. Her gloves turn white, Kayla changes face: she wears the mask of an Oni demon, executioner of Japanese culture. She only removes it to familiarize with a lizard.
The dream is about to end, and Kayla is about to return to her original features: a modern geisha with a gentle air, on which shadows, lights, and pretty little flowers are projected.
