Don't Get Killed

“Don’t Get Killed” calls us to delve into an atmosphere that feels quite familiar in times of social isolation. Conveyed through the lens of photographer Ksenia Bagriy, with the styling by Diana Mamonova and Liza Mameshina, this enthralling fashion editorial emphasizes the contrast between the need of freedom and the boundaries sculpted within our psyches, along with the impossibility to truly escape from current restrictions.

Locked up within the grey walls of a house and invisible glass barriers blurring the sight and preventing movement, the model Anastasia Gureeva acts as the interpreter of these conflicting forces. Between petals of organza sprouting freely from the sleeves and preening, feminine bursts of volumes, concurrently the black dress binds her body, while the rebel curls are imprisoned under the chainmail helmet.

“Don’t Get Killed” sounds like an ode to the sense of hope for a brighter post-pandemic future: preserving the beauty of inner freedom is therefore necessary now more than ever.
